Several heart-warming photos of a doctor soothing a two-year-old girl touched hearts on Chinese social media since yesterday. They were taken in a Zhejiang hospital, in which the doctor was captured trying to calm down the girl while showing her cute videos before her heart surgery.
The two-year-old girl was crying and pretty nervous in the surgery room, a totally unfamiliar environment without her parents to keep her company. Shi Zhuo, the girl’s surgeon, tried different ways to calm her down. Doctor Shi has a six-year-old daughter and he showed the girl his daughter’s favorite videos.
After a while, the little girl stopped crying, and she was totally attracted by the funny figures in the videos. The girl wore a huge surgery gown, and was hold in the doctor’s arms. The warm scene was captured by anesthetist Jin Ziying.
Doctor Shi said, “In the operating room, medical staff usually sooth patients with hugs, expressions, and words. It’s very normal, seeing this kind of scene,” according to People’s Daily.
On the social networks, many Chinese netizens thumbed up Doctor Shi by saying the doctor was so kind-hearted and he looks like he’s holding his daughter and treats his patient like his own child.
